The SnowMen deal with our winter blahs by dreaming of warming times. In the off season we like to ride our motorcycles and we keep our spirits up by reading a motorcycle blog or two so that we don’t focus on the harsh winter and the late nights clearing snow and ice. It can be stressful doing what we do. We take incredible risks by being on the roads when most people wouldn’t dare venture out. The hours we keep make it difficult to maintain relationships, we’re constantly checking the weather network, drinking coffee at the Tim’s, and keeping our equipment up to snuff. Hopefully we’ll be able to look forward to swimming pools and camping trips, and relaxing on the deck with a cold beer with faces glowing from the hot summer sun.

The SnowMen recently decided to run a Lenzr photo contest for October and November to spread the word about their growing snow removal service. The theme of the contest is Pets in Winter Coats because, well, who doesn’t love a dog in a ski jacket? Here’s how it works: submit your best photos of pets bundled up in winter gear by December 1 for a chance to win a brand new Craftsman/MD electric snowblower from Sears valued at $400. The snowblower has a 20-inch clearing path, a powerful 12-amp motor and a rubber and steel paddle to handle all sorts of snow conditions. The winner is chosen by an online voting system that starts November 20, and the photo with the most votes by December 1 wins the snowblower — just like that. Good luck to everyone who enters!

On January 10, 2010, The SnowMen acquired a small hobby farm north of Toronto near the Pickering Town line. The Purpose of this move was to give us more room to expand our fleet and so that we could have access to a drive shed and barn for storage and repairs of our equipment. The location also puts us in the crux of Durham, Markham and East Toronto, enabling us to better serve our customers. This is a very exciting move for us.

Please remember that our service is automatic. Our trucks are deployed the moment there is 1 inch of snow on the ground. Our residential service guarantee is to clear your snow & ice within 12 hours of the first inch of snow. Commercial clients may be sooner. It is impossible to have everyones snow removed before you wake up, unless the first inch of snow falls before you go to bed, then it will be done.
